A Brief History
Established in 1990, Dayview Textiles Pty Ltd are an Australian wholesale fabric supplier and distributor, in other words we are a company that sells patchwork and quilting fabric to patchwork businesses. We believe in supplying the best quality of product combined with the best presentation. Our main suppler RJR fabrics are a company that has the same policies as Dayview Textiles and it is this synergy that has helped shape the way we do business. All our goods are shipped directly from RJR’s warehouse to Dayview’s warehouse.
Bill Day, the owner and operator of Dayview Textiles, has been a long-term advocate in supporting the independent business owners, because after all they are the heart of our business. Bill has been in the Textile industry for 50 years, he was out and about selling fabric for patchwork in Australia before there was a patchwork shop.Dayview Textiles is a family run business and intends to stay that way with the next generation already learning the ropes.

Awards
On Saturday 21st August 2004 Pride Publishing held the inaugural DUQ/Bernina Excellence in Patchwork Awards. It was a fantastic night with stores and businesses from all states of Australia receiving awards. For Dayview Textiles and RJR Fabrics it was a very rewarding night with RJR Fabrics receiving the award for “Favourite Fabric Manufacturer”. The award was accepted by Mr Richard Cohan CEO of RJR Fabrics and Mr Bill Day CEO of Dayview Textiles, the sole Australian distributor of RJR Fabrics.
A second award was given to Bill Day as the first inductee into the new “Excellence in Patchwork Hall of Fame”. Even though at Dayview Textiles we might be a little biased, we believe there is no more deserving recipient than Bill. Next year marks Bill’s 50 years in textiles.First inductee into the new “Excellence in Patchwork Hall of Fame”
Some comments and insight into Bill’s past within this industry were made in speeches by Lorraine Moran, Gloria McKinnon and Richard Cohan.
Mr Richard Cohan CEO of RJR Fabrics and MrJohn Durnell Vice President of RJR Fabrics made sure their trip to Australia coincided with the awards night.
